A long-standing Rotherham printing business, which has recently branched out into larger premises, is now on the search for more staff.

On Wednesday, July 8, Bluetree Design and Print is holding a special recruitment day at its new base in Manvers.

The company is now recruiting customer service advisors, print finishing operatives, litho and digital printers and press assistants, finishing and dispatch assistants, artworkers and administrators/clerks.

Anyone interested in applying for one of the positions can book an appointment by e-mailing their contact details and their CV to

The company aims to interview over 40 candidates on the day and then shortlist those who may be suitable.

Bluetree will officially move to the Brookfields Park site on the 10th July.  This will allow the merger of two existing factories under one roof giving improved efficiency and enabling future growth by doubling its production capacity.

Established in 1989 in Templeborough, the company originally supplied printed point of sale and marketing materials to major high street retailers and banks. However, in 2012 it merged with the online print provider  and as a result has experienced rapid expansion.

Turnover was £3.5 million when the merger took place but has now risen to £14 million in the last financial year with much of the growth being attributed to the expansion of online print across the UK.

The merger has also seen an increase in employees - rising from 41 to 170 - and with further plans to increase this figure to 200 by this September.

Managing Director Adam Carnell said the recruitment day is an ideal opportunity for people from the local area to come and see the new facility, as well as see what Bluetree has to offer as an employer.

He added: "Our new facilities at Manvers will help us fulfil our long term goals of increasing market share in the UK and by giving us the ability to continue the strong growth we have been achieving.

"Having been based in the Rotherham area for over 20 years, we are happy to continue this growth in the local area and are looking forward to meeting prospective Bluetree employees at the recruitment day."

The project has been supported with grant funding from the LEP’s “Unlocking Business Investment” Regional Growth Fund programme, which has seen £32m in central Government funding allocated to the Sheffield City Region to create sustainable private sector employment.

Sarah Stanley, HR Business Consultant for Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RiDO), has been working with Bluetree to provide business support and advice regarding local recruitment options to help support their expansion plans.

Councillor Denise Lelliot, Advisory Cabinet Member for Housing and the local economy, added that it was great to see the expansion of a well-established local company.

She said: "This is exactly what we want to see across Rotherham - the confidence and ambition of long-standing companies to grow within the borough and all the benefits that will bring, such as increased employment."

The business support delivered by RiDO is under the “South Yorkshire Sector Growth Enhancement Programme” which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Yorkshire & Humber ERDF Operational Programme (2007-2013).

The project aims to support both inward investors and expanding indigenous businesses in high-growth sectors to accelerate private sector expansion and increase the competitiveness of the region's business base.
